Jan 29, 2020 · From what I've encountered so far, I think PTH increases the reabsorption of Ca2+ from the kidneys, decreases the reabsorption of PO43- from the kidneys, and increases renal excretion of PO43- -> this results in increased serum Ca2+ levels. As a secondary effect, PTH also aids in the conversion of Vitamin D to calcitriol.
