Dan Hurley's UConn men's basketball team was ranked No. 2 in the nation heading into the Maui Invitational, but the Huskies lost three straight.

After the Lakers moved on from Darvin Ham, Hurley was discussed as an option and even offered a six-year, $70 million deal to be the head coach. Hurley ended up turning down the job, deciding to stay at UConn after winning back-to-back national titles.

UConn forward Alex Karaban was taken to a hospital with a head injury after the No. 2 Huskies’ 85-67 loss to Dayton in the seventh-place game of the Maui Invitational.
