Following several years of growing ridership and sold-out trains on many weekends, this ski season’s version of Amtrak’s Winter Park Express will advance its previous January debut into December, and then will operate five days per week beginning Jan.

The Winter Park Express train will expand to 69 roundtrips over the winter, 29 more than during the 2024 season, and add a new stop in Fraser.

Tickets for the train between Denver and Winter Park will now cost as little as $38, down from the previous cheapest-possible ticket, which cost $58, after a Monday announcement from Gov. Jared Polis.

It’s going to be cheaper and easier to catch the train to snowboard in Colorado this winter. Amtrak’s Winter Park Express will run five days a week this season. That’s a huge upgrade from last year, when it only ran on the weekends.
