Spike Lee will head up the jury for the upcoming Red Sea International Film Festival. The decorated Malcolm X filmmaker will preside over the features competition jury, which last year saw Zarrar Kahn’s In Flames taking Best Feature and Farah Nabulsi’s The Teacher scoring a pair of wins including Best Actor for Saleh Bakri.

Organisers of the Red Sea International Film Festival have unveiled the line-up and jury head for next month's annual event in Saudi Arabia. More than 120 movies from 81 countries are set to screen in the Al Ballad district of Jeddah from December 5 to 14.

The Jeddah festival's broader lineup now includes Thierry Frémaux's "Lumière: Le Cinema," the sequel to "Lumière: The Adventure Begins."

Cannes Film Festival general delegate Thierry Frémaux will be heading to Saudi Arabia in December to attend the Red Sea Film Festival to support his new documentary “Lumière! The Adventure Continues,” which takes a deep dive into the origins of cinema.

The lineup of the “timeless classics” strand of the fest in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia will also feature three restored works in collaboration with Egyptian Media Production City.
