DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — An Israeli strike on a school in northern Gaza on Saturday killed at least 22 people, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, while the Israeli army said it targeted a Hamas command center in what used to be a school.

The number of people killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on Friday has risen significantly, Lebanese officials say, with several children and women among the dead. All day on Saturday, rescuers searched through the rubble after a high-rise building collapsed and others were partially destroyed in the attack.

BEIRUT/JERUSALEM (Reuters) -At least 37 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a Beirut suburb on Friday, including three children and seven women, the Lebanese health ministry said on Saturday.

Palestinian health authorities said the attack killed 22 people, mostly women and children, who had sought shelter at the Zeitoun School in Gaza City. Israel said it believed Hamas militants were using the building.
