Stefan Noesen scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period and the visiting New Jersey Devils held on for a 5-4 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday afternoon.

It was a fun atmosphere on a holiday weekday afternoon and an entertaining game, but the Red Wings gladly would have exchanged the result.

They couldn’t sustain it, however, and the New Jersey Devils battled back from a two-goal deficit to defeat the Red Wings 5-4 at Little Caesars Arena. The Devils (16-8-2) scored three times on the power play against the league’s worst-rated penalty kill.
