Amtrak’s popular Colorado ski train is returning for another season and this time the rail company is starting earlier and running on more days to accommodate increased demand.

Colorado visitors looking to see as much as possible this without having to use a car this ski season will have more options than ever to avoid winter traffic jams. Amtrak just announced the return of its beloved Winter Park Express train for the winter 2024–25 season.

Following several years of growing ridership and sold-out trains on many weekends, this ski season’s version of Amtrak’s Winter Park Express will advance its previous January debut into December, and then will operate five days per week beginning Jan.

Colorado visitors looking to see as much as possible this without having to use a car this ski season will have more options than ever to avoid winter traffic jams. Amtrak just announced the return of its beloved Winter Park Express train for the winter 2024–25 season.

The Winter Park Express train will expand to 69 roundtrips over the winter, 29 more than during the 2024 season, and add a new stop in Fraser.

It’s going to be cheaper and easier to catch the train to snowboard in Colorado this winter. Amtrak’s Winter Park Express will run five days a week this season. That’s a huge upgrade from last year, when it only ran on the weekends.
