Early next year the Los Angeles Unified School District will become one of the largest school districts in the country to ban cell phones on campus. Superintendent Alberto Carvalho will roll out a district-wide smartphone ban after the LAUSD school board passed a resolution calling for the prohibition.

Colorado school districts will soon be able to apply for grants of up to $50,000 to help their students reduce cell phone use during the school day.
