The laser lighting is rated to deliver 20,000 hours of uninterrupted use (in the projector’s Normal and Quiet running modes), and despite the high brightness for a portable projector, Epson claims that its new models should only run with a maximum of 22dB of fan noise in the EF22’s case and 23dB in the EF21’s case.

Epson has unveiled the EpiqVision Mini EF21 and EpiqVision Mini EF22 LCD projectors, which feature HD resolution, a claimed 1,000 lumens and built-in streaming. They're identical inside, but outside the EF22 adds a gimbaled design that lets you pivot and swivel the projector for fast setup (more on that shortly).

Following the release of its flagship Q-Series video projector line-up, Epson is not neglecting the mainstream consumer by introducing new additions to its compact portable projector offerings; the EpiqVision Mini EF21 ($899) and EF22 ($999).

Color options for the EF-22 and EF-21 include Diamond White, Opal Green and Quartz Rose, and the EF-22 also comes in Stone Blue and Onyx Black. An optional EpiqVision Mini Custom Travel Case for taking your projector on the go is available for $49.99. The Epson EF-22 and EF-21 will be available starting in early October.
