Environmentalists say the meat company’s “net-zero by 2050” claims don’t hold water.

The Environmental Working Group alleges that the world’s second-largest meat producer is misleading consumers by labeling a line of its beef ‘climate smart.’

An environmental group is suing Tyson Foods for allegedly misleading consumers by saying it will reach net-zero emissions by 2050 and marketing climate-friendly beef without meaningful plans to achieve those goals.

The suit, filed under the District of Columbia Consumer Protection Procedures Act (CPPA) in D.C. Superior Court, seeks to hold Tyson accountable for “misleading statements” and keep the company from continuing with such claims.
