The stock market regained its momentum in the last trading session of the week, closing notably higher after a drastic collapse on Thursday despite continued foreign investors selling woes. The BSE Sensex gained 760 points 0.

bDespite steep volatillty in FII inflows with a remarkable sell-off following 3-day of FII inflow this week, Indian equities ended the week to November 29 on a positive note. For the week, Nifty ended 0.94 per cent higher, while the BSE 30-share bluechip index ended with gains of 0.87 per cent higher.

The Nifty 50 ended the session with a gain of 0.91%, closing at 24,131, while the Sensex rallied by 0.91%, finishing at 79,760. However, the broader markets underperformed the benchmark indices.

PSU Bank index tumbled over 1 percent in trade after SBI, Bank of Baroda and Canara Bank dragged the index lower.

Stock market crash: The Indian stock market saw a massive crash during the afternoon trading hours on Thursday, November 28, 2024. At 2:50 pm IST, the benchmark BSE Sensex fell by a whopping 1,163.92 points or by 1.45%, reaching 79,070.16.

Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex ended the previous trade session in the red. Nifty 50 closed at 23,914.15, while Sensex ended at 79,043.74.

For the week, BSE Sensex and Nifty gained 1 percent each, while for the month of November, Sensex added 0.5 percent, while Nifty slipped 0.30 percent.

Bharti Airtel surged 3.82 per cent to Rs 1,620. Sun Pharma advanced 2.87 per cent to Rs 1,784 while Mahindra & Mahindra added 2.32 per cent to Rs 2,963 apiece. Larsen & Toubro, RIL and JSW Steel gained up to 2 per cent.

The BSE Sensex opened 12-odd points lower at 79,032, and soon jumped over 150 points to 79,200 levels. The NSE Nifty quoted around 23,960 – up 50 points. Following yesterday’s sharp sell-off, investors are likely to remain nimble footed in today’s trading session,

Market analysts express concerns about Nifty's downward trend, with support around 23,600 and potential declines towards 23,500. Bank Nifty shows weakness, with critical support at 51,800. Caution is advised amidst geopolitical tensions and inflation worries.
