Former Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant sold to Lucknow Super Giants for a massive price of Rs 27 crore, the highest ever bid in the history of the tournament in the IPL 2025 Auction at the Abadi Al Johar Arena in Jeddah on Sunday.

In this auction, if the previous franchise wants to use the RTM card, the franchise that made the final bid will have an additional opportunity to raise its bid.

Rishabh Pant shattered IPL records, fetching a historic Rs 27 crore from Lucknow Super Giants, becoming the highest-paid player ever. Shreyas Iyer wasn't far behind, joining Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore.

Pant made a comeback in IPL 2024 after recovering from the severe injuries he sustained in a life-threatening car accident in December 2022. Upon his return, he was reinstated as captain of Delhi Capitals and he scored 446 runs in what turned out to be another average season for the team.
