Covington police said they will have an increased presence at Covington High School throughout the day Wednesday following a threat reportedly made on social media.

Police are investigating an apparent assault near a school in Essex involving a juvenile. Baltimore County police provided limited details to 11 News, saying a juvenile was being treated Wednesday afternoon for a puncture wound.

A juvenile is in custody and there is an increased police presence at Covington High School due to a reported social media threat of violence directed toward the school.The Covington Police Department says the juvenile has been taken into custody for questioning,
