Apple appears to be ramping up its Siri efforts to secure a spot as a key player in the AI arms race. The company is reportedly working on a more conversational version of its voice assistant Siri that'll be powered by advanced large language models,

Dubbed "LLM Siri" by Apple employees (LLM standing for large language model), the new Siri is already being tested internally on iPhones, iPads, and Macs as a standalone app. But if all goes well, the new assistant will eventually replace the Siri we all know and have a hard time loving.

According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to announce Siri upgrades alongside iOS 19 and macOS 16 next year, but it may not formally launch until spring 2026.
