WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus condemned Israel’s targeting of a convoy managed by the international organization in Gaza.

The attacks came as Israel says three captives who died in Gaza late last year were killed by its own air strikes.

JERUSALEM − At least 10 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza on Saturday, Palestinian media reported, and the Israeli military said it targeted a Hamas commander as the devastating war stretched into its 11th month.

Palestinian officials report that Israeli airstrikes have killed 16 people in Gaza, including women and children. The strikes targeted homes in Nuseirat and Gaza City. The Awda Hospital confirmed the casualties and additional injuries.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations accuses Israel of striking schools, humanitarian workers, and civilians.

Israel has repeatedly said it targets Hamas militants, who often hide with civilians and use them as human shields, in retaliation for their Oct. 7 attacks in southern Israel that launched the war in Gaza.

Israel's war goals have been expanded to include the return of residents of the northern region who were evacuated near the Lebanon border due to attacks from Hezbollah.
