Jansen never became the right-handed bat the Red Sox needed at the deadline and it was admittedly an awkward fit. He hit .188 with a .623 OPS in 30 games, but he did provide above-average defense, leading all catchers with 15 Blocks Above Average while posting a minus-3 in catcher’s framing.
