Thousands of residents were forced to flee a fast-moving wildfire, called the Mountain Fire, consumed dozens of homes in several Ventura County communities. The out-of-control brush fire broke out near the 7900 block of Balcom Canyon Road and Bradley Road at approximately 9:30 a.

It’s unclear how many homes have been destroyed by the Mountain Fire. Officials said they plan to send out damage assessment support teams who will be going door-to-door in the communities impacted by the fire.

Firefighters in Camarillo Heights are working to control the Mountain Fire, which has burned more than 10,000 acres, injured several people, and destroyed dozens of homes.
