“Any person who knowingly performs or induces an abortion of an unborn child in violation of this subsection shall be guilty of a class B felony, as well as subject to suspension or revocation of his or her professional license,” Missouri’s abortion law reads.

Hundreds of Missouri doctors signed a letter asking voters to overturn the state’s abortion ban. This comes less than two months from the day Missourians will decide whether to do just that. Missourians will vote on Amendment Three in November.

Supporters of abortion rights may be set up to deliver another decisive rebuke of conservative-led efforts to ban or restrict abortion at the state level.
