Matthew McConaughey spoke about when he refused to return to Hollywood for rom-coms and how a career pact with his wife kept him to his word.

Matthew McConaughey said he made a pact with his wife that he wouldn't go back to work unless he got offered roles he wanted.

“I moved down to the ranch in Texas,” McConaughey said. “I went down there and I made a pact with my wife [model and actress Camila Alves McConaughey] and said, ‘I’m not going back to work unless I get offered roles I want to do.’”
