Ilkay Gundogan admits Manchester City’s Premier League title hopes will be over if they lose to Liverpool on Sunday. It has been a nightmare spell for the champions, with five defeats and a draw in their last six outings across all competitions.

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan says travelling to Liverpool on Sunday will be as tough as it has ever been given City's recent performances and results. A trip to Anfield is probably the last thing Pep Guardiola will want after blowing a 3-0 lead over Feyenoord on Tuesday in the Champions League but Gundogan is hopeful a result could give them "the chance for a boost".

Liverpool went eight points clear at the top of the Premier League as they came from behind to seal a thrilling 3-2 victory over Southampton at St Mary's, thanks to two second-half goals from Mohamed Salah. Salah turned Sunday's match on its head after Mateus Fernandes had given bottom club Southampton a surprise 2-1 lead on 56 minutes.

Mohamed Salah will be out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season, and while he is yet to decide his future, any move to Saudi Arabia looks unlikely at the moment
