By Hannah Confino and Laila Bassam JERUSALEM/BEIRUT (Reuters) -Israel is moving towards a ceasefire in the war with Hezbollah but there are still issues to address, its government said on Monday, while two senior Lebanese officials voiced guarded optimism of a deal soon even as Israeli strikes pounded Lebanon.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved the emerging ceasefire deal with Hezbollah “in principle” during a security consultation with Israeli officials Sunday night, a source familiar with the matter said.

The Israeli cabinet is set to convene to approve a Lebanon ceasefire deal, which could end the ongoing conflict with Hezbollah. Reports indicate that Israel and Lebanon have reached an agreement on the terms,
