List: DC bars extend hours for 2024 Thanksgiving weekend
If you don’t have plans for Thanksgiving weekend, Washington, D.C., announced that all alcohol-licensed businesses may serve drinks for an extended time.
What’s open, closed for Thanksgiving in the DC area
All recreation centers are closed on Thursday. On Friday, Chinquapin Park Recreation Center and Aquatics Facility, Charles Houston Recreation Center, and Patrick Henry Recreation Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All other facilities will be closed.
Some DC Bars Will Stay Open Until 4 AM the Night Before Thanksgiving
Following the tradition of “Drinksgiving”—the day before Thanksgiving when hometown friends get together and stay out late drinking—DC is allowing over 200 bars to extend their hours as late as 4 AM. The late hours will last through the holiday weekend, from Wednesday, Nov. 27, through Sunday, Dec. 1.
