The Seattle Mariners typically promote from within their coaching ranks, but they went outside the organization for two new hitting coaches.

"I'm very pleased with the coaching staff we have assembled," said Jerry Dipoto, the Mariners president of baseball operations.

The Seattle Mariners made the hiring of their new hitting coach official and made a number of other changes for the coming season.

The Seattle Mariners announced their full 2025 coaching staff on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reported that their crew would include a pair of new hitting coaches to assist in their efforts to rejuvenate their offense.

Returning to the Mariners’ staff for 2025 are Manny Acta, Tony Arnerich, Trent Blank, Danny Farquhar, Perry Hill, Edgar Martinez, Kristopher Negrón, and Pete Woodworth. Acta transitions to bench coach, while Martinez takes on a new role as senior director of hitting strategy. Negrón moves to third base coach.

Matt Pierpont, who had been with the Mariners for the last four years as a minor league pitching coordinator, is moving onto St. Louis for a more prominent position.
