According to the McMahon Stadium Society, there is renewed interest and early conversations around building a new football stadium in Calgary including other locations.

The Canadian Football League says the Calgary Stampeders will host the 113th Grey Cup in 2026. CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie says he's thrilled the game will be returning to Calgary. He says it was where he won the championship as a player in 1993.

It is widely expected that Calgary and McMahon Stadium will be named the 2026 Grey Cup hosts. Calgary hasn’t hosted the game since 2019. The 2025 Grey Cup game has already been awarded to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. They will host it on November 16, 2025, at Princess Auto Stadium.

“The 2026 Grey Cup has been awarded to the Calgary Stampeders, to the City of Calgary and to the province of Alberta,” CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie told a news conference Friday. “We’re looking forward to one of the great Grey Cup parties of all time.”

Calgary will host the 2026 Grey Cup, the Stampeders announced Friday in a press conference at McMahon Stadium. The game will be played at the Stampeders’ McMahon Stadium on Sunday, November 15, 2026.
