President Joe Biden reemerges on the campaign trail this week, entering a new political phase as he closes out his time in the White House and works to ensure Vice President Kamala Harris succeeds him.

President Biden said Monday he is “close” to presenting a final deal to negotiators working to strike a hostage and ceasefire agreement in Gaza, and added Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not doing enough to secure the hostages’ release.

The president told reporters he would have more to say after a meeting later Monday in the White House Situation Room.
