While the nation is anxiously waiting to see who will be the next president, Florida is watching six constitutional amendments.

Nearly 56 percent of Florida voters supported a measure that would have allowed recreational use of marijuana for adults, but that wasn’t enough to push the proposed constitutional amendment over the finish line.

A 60% super-majority of votes is required to amend Florida's constitution. Amendment 3, which would have allowed recreational marijuana for adults 21 and older, fell short of that at 55.9%. “I'm a little surprised that it didn't pass. A little disappointed,” said Roger Brown, President of ACS Laboratory.

Florida voters will see recreational marijuana on the ballot in Florida as an initiated constitutional amendment , known as Amendment 3, on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Amendment 3 seeks to legalize recreational marijuana, allowing those 21 and older to have up to 3 ounces and up to 5 grams of cannabis concentrate.
