Sir Keir Starmer was spotted in the crowd at Doncaster Racecourse just hours after returning to the UK following talks with Joe Biden. The Prime Minister and his wife Lady Victoria Starmer were pictured smiling on the balcony at the Betfred St Leger meeting.

While Sir Keir may have a point that some reform was needed of the winter fuel allowance, that decision seems overly draconian given how many pensioners will be denied access overnight, even as other areas of the budget are ringfenced and reinforced.
