New York hospitals are being accused of knowing that Dr. Darius Paduch sexually abused his patients. This comes after Paduch was sentenced to life in prison. NBC News' Tom Llamas talks to an attorney representing some of Paduh's former patients about the allegations.

Darius A. Paduch, a fertility specialist, assaulted men and boys for years at prominent New York hospitals, prosecutors said.

A New York City urologist was handed a life sentence Wednesday after previously being convicted of the yearslong sexual abuse of patients, some of whom were minors.

A former doctor has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of sexually abusing multiple patients, including children, over the span of years in the New York area.

A former urologist who was sentenced to life in prison for sexually abusing dozens of male patients, including minors, while they were sedated in New York claimed that his actions were medically necessary.

"He used his position as a renowned urologist at prestigious hospitals to sexually assault vulnerable patients, including children, to gratify his own sexual desires."

"The damage that Dr. Paduch has done through his abuse and gaslighting is irreparable," Manhattan District Court Judge Ronnie Abrams said.

Darius Paduch, 57, was accused of abusing more than 150 patients, including children, in Manhattan and Long Island.

Darius A. Paduch, 57, of North Bergen was convicted on May 8 of six counts of inducing a person to travel to engage in unlawful sexual activity and five counts of inducing a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity after a two-week trial.
