Pastors and parents across the state have expressed concerns over Texas's board of education adding Bible-infused reading and language arts lessons in schools.

Public schools in Texas now have the option to use a new, state-written curriculum infused with Bible stories after the state’s school board voted in favor of the material on Friday.

Texas elementary students are closer to having Christian stories weaved throughout lessons in a move that supporters say will raise the academic bar but that critics lambast as religious indoctrination.
