Jasprit Bumrah drew praise from Wasim Akram and Ravi Shastri for his match-winning performance in the Perth Test which India won by 295 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Jasprit Bumrah became only the second bowler after Sydney Barnes in 1914 to have more than 150 wickets in Tests at an average of less than 20. Bumrah achieved the feat during a deadly spell on Day 3 of the series opener in Perth.

The visitors were bowled out for 150 on Day 1, however, turned it around to win the Test match by 295 runs on the back of eight wickets from Jasprit Bumrah and 161-run innings by Yashasvi Jaiswal
