Norfolk State football head coach Dawson Odums has been fired after four seasons, the school announced Tuesday.

The school has relieved head coach Dawson Odums of his duties and he will no longer lead the football program, according to an athletic department release sent Tuesday.

Norfolk State Football's head coach Dawson Odums was reassigned from his duties on Tuesday, according to Norfolk State University (NSU).

Dawson Odums will not return atop the Norfolk State program following four seasons at the FBS, HBCU Virginia school. Odums and the school parted ways Tuesday, just days removed from the Spartans wrapping up an 4-8 campaign.

Webb announced a change in leadership for the football program in a press release, saying Norfolk State was “reassigning” Odums from his duties as head coach immediately.

Dawson Odums had just wrapped up his fourth season with the Spartans in which they finished 4-8 and lost two of their last three games.
