The 27-year-old son of Norway’s crown princess has been accused of a second rape just days after he was arrested on suspicion of the same offense.

On Nov. 19, Crown Prince Haakon spoke about the arrest of his stepson, 27, the day prior. Crown Prince Haakon is Marius' stepfather through his marriage to Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Mette-Marit welcomed her son Marius during a relationship that preceded her 2001 marriage to Haakon, and Marius does not have a royal role within the monarchy.

The eldest son of Norway ’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit has been arrested again, this time on suspicion of rape, police said on Tuesday. Marius Borg Høiby is the stepson of the heir to the Norwegian throne, Crown Prince Haakon, and the son of Mette-Marit from a previous relationship. He has no royal title or official duties.

Marius Borg Høiby, 27 – who was born from a relationship prior to Mette-Marit’s 2001 marriage to Crown Prince Haakon, the heir apparent to the Norwegian throne – was arrested on Monday for the third time since August.

The son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit has been arrested on suspicion of rape. Marius Borg Høiby, 27, who is the Princess's son from her previous relationship with convicted felon Morten Borg, was arrested by Norwegian police on Monday.

The investigation remains ongoing, and initially, the royal family declined to comment, instead directing all questions to the police and Høiby's attorney. This is the third time he has been arrested in recent months.
