The iPad mini is due a new version, its seventh-generation. Overdue, indeed, as the current model launched in September 2021. It seems likely that the next model could come very soon, then, perhaps as soon as the upcoming Special Event on Monday, September 9. Here’s why I think that’s wrong.

As you may already know, Apple will be holding a special event on September 9 – which was confirmed by the company earlier today. Rumors suggest that we’ll see new versions of the iPhone and Apple Watch, but there are also other rumored products that probably won’t be announced next weel.

As far as new products go, expect the usual September upgrades – a new iPhone 16 lineup alongside new Apple Watch models (Series 10 or Series “X,” and maybe an Ultra 3). New AirPods in both entry- and Pro-level models could also be showcased at the Apple event.
