AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm have all taken a spot in Acer's range of new laptops, and some of the biggest news here is the revelation that Copilot+ AI features — originally exclusive to Qualcomm systems since Copilot+ PCs first launched in May 2024 — are coming to AMD and Intel in November.

Intel says that Microsoft’s new Windows AI features will start arriving on some of its laptops in November. AMD has already launched laptops that are capable of meeting Microsoft’s Copilot Plus PC hardware requirements for Windows AI features,

Microsoft said that the company will issue a Windows 11 update in November to add the Copilot+ features that those chips are qualified to address, but don’t have access to now. They include Live Captions, the updated Photos app, Windows Studio Effects, and the updated Paint app with AI creation capabilities.

The Acer Swift 14 AI (SF14-51) comes with Intel Lunar Lake processor options, while the Swift 14 AI (SF14-61) is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 300 series chip and the new Acer Swift Go (SFG14-01) features a Qualcomm Snapdragon Plus X1P-42-100 processor. All three should be available starting this month.

Qualcomm’s exclusivity period on Copilot+ PCs is winding down. Microsoft confirmed on Tuesday that Intel and AMD’s latest AI chips will get Microsoft’s AI features in a software update later this year.
