Hugh Grant is in creepy villain mode in A24's new trailer for Heretic, writer/director team Scott Beck and Bryan Woods' horror about two missionaries (Chloe East and Yellowjackets ' Sophie Tatcher) paying a visit to a man who invites them into his house — only to trap them as part of a twisted game.

Heretic comes from filmmaking duo Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, best known for writing A Quiet Place and directing Haunt. The cast also includes Elle McKinnon, Stephanie Lavigne, Elle Young, River Codack, Haylie Hansen, and Carolyn Adair.

When it comes to religious horror films, most entries in the genre usually stay in fairly familiar territory. Demon possession, evil antichrist babies, and the devil manipulating one’s actions are all within the usual realm of the religious horror movie.
