Vice President Kamala Harris will spend election night at Howard University – her alma mater and a historically Black university in Washington, D.C. This is the first time in modern history that a presidential election watch party will be on a college campus, Howard President Ben Vinson III said in an email to the community last week.

Howard University moves closer to becoming only HBCU with R-1 Status. Howard had R-1 status but lost it due to strict requirements in 2005.
