Police are searching for an arsonist who they believe sparked a massive fire that left multiple people injured in Chinatown last week. The blaze was reported on Friday at around 3:45 a.m. at a three-story apartment building that was under construction in the 700 block of new Deport Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

An 80-year-man was critically injured and 51 residents were displaced after a fire swept through four apartment buildings in Chinatown early Friday morning.

The fire broke out in a building near 63rd Street and Albany Avenue around 1:30 a.m. The Minnesota Twins released minor-league catcher Derek Bender after he tipped pitches to opposing hitters in a game in which his team was eliminated from playoff contention.
