San Francisco police officer James Guelff was shot and killed by a carjacking suspect on November 13, 1994. The police department, joined by his family, held a ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of that night to pay their respects.

A car chase in New Jersey led to the apprehension of Gregory Jefferson, of the Bronx, who is accused in a Greenwich carjacking from May, police said.

Police say the 47-year-old pulled a gun on officers after they responded to reports of a domestic disturbance.
