NBC News embedded with the Israel Defense Forces for a rare inside look at the destruction inside the Gaza Strip. The IDF says they wanted to show how Israel’s military operation has weakened Hamas in the city of Rafah near the Egyptian border.

An Associated Press reporter was one of a few journalists brought by the Israeli military Friday into southern Gaza, to view two tunnels they claim were used by Hamas militants, including one where they say six hostages were killed.
