The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded over $37 million in grants to 12 Illinois airports for operations and infrastructure improvements, including expanding terminal buildings, increasing clean energy practices,

United States Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff announced they secured over $8 million in federal funds for Augusta Regional Airport.

According to a release, the city plans to modernize the airport’s taxiway and replace critical parts of the terminal's central utility plant. The $20.3 million grant is among the largest amount given to an agency in Florida.

U.S. Senators Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff announced over $60 million in federal funds have been secured to make investments to Georgia's airports, including Augusta Regional Airport.

With this funding, Georgia airports will receive $63,646,755 for infrastructure investment. Southwest Georgia Regional Airport in Albany was one of the airports receiving funding.
