Alaska Airlines is upgrading its fleet, adding more first class and premium class seating to its aircraft. Starting in September, the Seattle-based airline will add additional first class and premium class seats to more than 200 aircraft. The retrofit will take place on the airline’s Boeing 737-900ER, 737-800, and 737-9 MAX aircraft.

Alaska Airlines reported earnings Wednesday. Net income was down slightly to $220 million in the most recent quarter, coming out of $2.9 billion in revenue. The big merger with Hawaiian Airlines continues apace.
