WEBOct 5, 2003 · When I started my project I discovered that when you overlap pieces of the Corry's tape and press firmly the pieces form an conductive connection! This stuff is cheap and readily available at most hardware or garden stores. A 1" wide 15 foot roll is around $7.

It is true it is just a shield with no current running through it, just a voltage potential but I also think it does a better job, easier, less messy to work with. The paint is enough to do up to 5 guitars.

WEBNov 19, 2000 · Be sure to paint the cavity cover, too. Make sure the shielding paint on the cover makes contact with the paint in the cavity. This would go for the pickguard as well, if applicable. If ya go the foil route, but sure to join the tape sections with a well placed drop of solder. Same treatment for covers and pickguard.

Since graphite is highly conductive the surface painted with the graphite will have a low resistance once dry. The formula I used was one part 3M Scotchkote Liquid Tape, 1.5 parts graphite powder, and 1 part Acetone.

WEBMar 13, 2019 · To get conductivity, you'll need to sand a small area on the backside to shiny silver. Then stick on a piece of conductive-back copper tape, or put that area in firm contact with a bare copper wire. You can also get the conductivity through the output jack. The jack's outer shell is usually the central grounding point for all the shielding anyway.
