A resistance of less the 100 ohms was measured between any two points in the control cavity. The resistance should continue to drop over the next 24 hours as the solvent evaporates.

WEBJun 23, 2014 · Water based, flat black and easy to brush on. Use pipe cleaners to paint the wire cavities. The StewMac stuff works with a minimum 3 coats. Be sure to check conductivity along the way with a multimeter and extend small tabs over the lip of the cavity to connect to the control plate or cavity cover.

I'm thinking I'll dedicate one cheapo airbrush or touchup gun just for spraying it. Pour it in the gun, spray two coats, back in the bottle, minimal paint waste.

WEBOct 19, 2015 · I've also been using SuperShield Nickel for years for most of my shielding in the basses I build. I had been buying the spray cans ($38 ea!), which are very convenient. But I'd had trouble with the cans' valves getting jammed, and the cans would lose pressure long before the paint was used up. Wasting expensive paint.

WEBMay 18, 2015 · First put some shellac flakes in a jar and add about double the thinner as flakes. It's not enough thinner to dissolve all the flakes, so it makes a totally saturated shellac mixture. Give it an hour or two and a couple stirs, then poured off about 2 tablespoons into another jar.

WEBFeb 26, 2000 · In practice there may not be much difference. For your reference, two coats of MG Nickel shielding paint usually gives you about 6 mils of conductive metal. Copper shielding tape is about 1 mil. Aluminum foil can be 1/2 mil to 2 mils.

I bought conductive adhesive cloth tape from A* for $8.99. It claimed that the adhesive was conductive and I was glad to find out it was. As you can see from my measurements no resistance.

WEBJan 30, 2011 · Shielding paint has a matte finish. I would assume that it is not shielded and do a complete shielding on it if it were me. In addition I normally ground all the cavities to eachother. I use shielding paint then put a small strip of copper tape in each cavity. Then solder a wire from each cavity onto the tape strips.
