Is 20w adapter enough to charge and operate M1 MacBook Air?
WEBNov 20, 2020 · It will charge just fine. 2019 Macbook Air, 18W charger: - Will slowly charge with normal tasks (Safari, Pages, Keynote). - Won't charge when using apps that use a lot of resources (like FCPX editing). - Will slowly lose battery percentage when pushing the laptop (like FCPX rendering) With M1 Air and 20W charger it will be only better than this.

If someone can provide their own results I would be grateful as I already have an 18w charger that I'm planning on using with the iPhone 12.

WEBAug 13, 2022 · My home setup with a monitor has the 20W iPad charger for the MacBook Air M2. Working great. I still have an old USB-A 12W iPad charger that could be perfect for my home setup. This would allow me to take the 20W charger for on-the-go. Main reason is to keep the Macbook charged at 80%, the charger is working.

WEBDec 29, 2020 · Well, you should never fully deplete your iPhone's battery as it will hurt the battery capacity in the long run. Not so much with a decent fast charger like the one you mentioned from Apple. I love that 20W charger, I've never been able to charge any smartphone that quickly, ever. 30 minutes and it goes from 30% charge to 80%.

For instance since having my 12 Pro I’m down to about 50% at around 6 hours into my 8 hour work day. At this time I usually charge with the Apple 20w up to 80% - 100%. Then overnight I charge using the Apple 20w. Thanks!

Verbatim is/was a well known brand, at least for media storage. The spec for the 20W Apple charger is 3A at 5VDC (i.e., 15W) and 2.22A at 9VDC (i.e., 20W).

WEBOct 26, 2020 · For traveling and for my car charger, I’ll get a 18-20w charger since I’m more likely to need a faster charge in those situations. Otherwise, if you’re worried about battery health, a lower wattage, wired charger will always be best. Anything wireless or “fast charging” will create substantially more heat, and thus, more damage.

Personally, I use a QI charger most of the time (which also has heat issues) and fast chargers occasionally as well.

So I also know the MagSafe charger states 20W as well but will this also work with 18W charger? It’s a little confusing to say 20W only now, I know Apple has stopped selling the 18W now, but I still have the 18W.
